Session 3 Opening Day - Bundanon

Session 3 introduces participants to Country through a culturally grounded Opening Day experience followed by a Wayapa Wuurrk workshop. The session begins with a welcoming yarn that sets the cultural tone for the workshop, acknowledges Elders, and connects everyone to the stories and responsibilities tied to Place.

Participants are guided through Wayapa Wuurrk, an earth-connection practice created by Aboriginal knowledge holders. Through movement, meditation, and storytelling, partipants explore the foundational Wayapa elements that strengthen their relationship with land, community, and self. The workshop encourages grounding, mindfulness, and an understanding of how wellbeing is connected to caring for Country.

This session builds cultural awareness, fosters respect for Indigenous knowledge systems, and prepares participants for deeper engagement throughout the program by grounding them in connection, presence, and shared responsibility.
